Gardaí Detect Over 1,200 Speeding Drivers During Bank Holiday Crackdown

A Garda road traffic operation over the bank holiday weekend has resulted in more than 1,200 drivers being caught for speeding. The operation, aimed at improving road safety, highlighted several instances of excessive speeding.

Among the most egregious violations was a motorist clocked at 147km/h in a zone limited to 80km/h. This incident underscores the ongoing challenge of enforcing speed limits on Irish roads, despite continuous efforts by authorities to enhance safety measures.
