Hezbollah has firmly rejected a security agreement between Lebanon and Israel that was brokered by the United States. The pact, signed recently, aims to enhance cooperation between the two nations, but has drawn criticism from certain political factions in Lebanon.
Naim Qassem, a senior figure in Hezbollah, condemned the agreement, labeling it as capitulation to Israeli demands. His remarks come just a day after the pact was officially signed, signaling potential friction within Lebanon regarding its implications.
The deal is intended to address longstanding security concerns and foster stability in the region, according to US officials. However, Hezbollah views the agreement as undermining Lebanese sovereignty and compromising its resistance against Israel.
As tensions rise, the Lebanese government faces the challenge of balancing international diplomatic efforts with domestic political dynamics, where Hezbollah wields significant influence.
