Government to Prioritise Schools in Temporary Buildings

The government has announced plans to prioritise schools currently operating in temporary accommodation in the next phase of the National Development Plan. Minister for Education and Youth, Hildegarde Naughton, has emphasised the importance of addressing these educational infrastructure challenges.

This initiative aims to provide more permanent solutions for schools that have been reliant on temporary facilities, ensuring that students and staff have access to stable and supportive learning environments. The move is part of a broader strategy to enhance educational standards and infrastructure across the country.

In recent years, a significant number of schools have had to resort to temporary buildings due to various constraints, including space limitations and funding issues. The planned prioritisation reflects a commitment to resolving these issues and promoting equitable access to quality education for all students.

As the next phase of the National Development Plan unfolds, stakeholders in the education sector will be closely monitoring its implementation to ensure that the needs of these schools are effectively addressed.
