Pieta House, the well-known Irish charity focused on mental health support, has announced a reduction in its workforce, letting go of more than 30 staff members. This decision follows a significant decline in fundraising revenue, marking a 10% drop compared to the previous year.
The financial strain on Pieta House is largely attributed to a substantial decrease in income from the Darkness Into Light event, a key annual fundraiser. This downturn in revenue has prompted the charity to undertake a restructuring programme in an effort to stabilize its operations amid the financial challenges.
