The Minister for Justice, Jim O’Callaghan, is preparing to introduce a new legislative proposal known as ‘Jennie’s Law’ to the Cabinet this week. This marks the beginning of the bill’s journey through the legislative process in the Oireachtas.

‘Jennie’s Law’ is intended to address pressing issues within the justice system, reflecting ongoing commitments to reform and improve legal frameworks in Ireland. The initiative underscores the government’s dedication to enhancing public safety and ensuring justice for all citizens.

The proposed legislation is expected to undergo rigorous examination and debate as it progresses through various stages in the Oireachtas. This process will include detailed scrutiny by lawmakers to fine-tune the bill and ensure it meets the needs of the public effectively.

As the proposal moves forward, stakeholders and the public will have the opportunity to engage with the legislative process, providing input and feedback to shape the final outcome of ‘Jennie’s Law’.
