Sligo County Council has made an appeal to Irish Rail for the introduction of an early morning train service. This move aims to alleviate difficulties faced by students and commuters due to a significant accommodation shortage in the area.
The council’s proposal highlights the growing demand for reliable public transport options to better connect Sligo with other major urban centres. With students struggling to find housing close to educational institutions, enhanced rail services are seen as a crucial step in improving accessibility.
