A tribunal has been informed of a second wording mistake in an Aer Lingus disciplinary report, as disclosed by a senior manager during proceedings. This revelation comes amid ongoing scrutiny of the airline’s handling of a pilot’s demotion.
The issue surfaced when the manager clarified that a passage in the report appeared to favour the pilot due to a repeated error in word choice. The pilot in question had previously been demoted by the airline, prompting the tribunal investigation.
The manager explained that this was the second instance where the report’s language inaccurately reflected his intentions, attributing the misunderstanding to the wrong selection of words. The initial error had already been acknowledged, raising concerns over the report’s overall accuracy.
These developments have added to the complexity of the tribunal’s review, as it seeks to determine the impact of these errors on the disciplinary decision-making process within Aer Lingus.
