Majority Express Distrust in Government’s AI Fairness

A recent survey highlights a significant lack of trust among the Irish public regarding the Government’s use of artificial intelligence. The findings indicate that more than 60% of respondents are skeptical about the Government’s capacity to ensure AI systems treat all citizens fairly and without bias.

This sentiment comes amid growing concerns globally about the ethical use of AI technologies. As governments increasingly adopt AI for various functions, questions about transparency and accountability have become more pronounced.

The survey’s results suggest a need for the Government to address these concerns, possibly by enhancing transparency in AI implementation and providing reassurances about the fairness of these technologies.

Public apprehension reflects broader debates on the role of AI in society, emphasizing the importance of building systems that are not only efficient but also equitable.
