The Irish government has invested €10.45 million in consultancy fees to Deloitte Ireland over the past year and a half. This expenditure is part of efforts to address significant challenges related to international protection accommodations and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The funds have been allocated to help manage and strategize the State’s response to the accommodation crisis faced by international protection applicants. This issue has become increasingly pressing amid a surge in arrivals, necessitating expert guidance to optimize resources and ensure adequate support.
Additionally, the consultancy services have been instrumental in shaping Ireland’s response to the war in Ukraine. The conflict has spurred a humanitarian effort, requiring coordinated logistics and policy development to assist those affected.
These consultancy services are crucial in ensuring that the State effectively navigates these complex issues, balancing immediate needs with long-term strategic planning.
