Residents in five counties in south-east Ireland have been advised to prepare for adverse weather conditions as Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning. The warning, which signals potential thunderstorms, particularly affects the counties of Waterford, Wexford, Carlow, Kilkenny, and Wicklow.
The warning is in effect as weather patterns indicate a high likelihood of heavy rainfall combined with thunderstorm activity. Such conditions could lead to localised flooding and travel disruptions, prompting caution among residents and commuters in the affected areas.
Met Éireann’s alert is part of a broader monitoring of weather conditions expected to persist over the weekend. The public is encouraged to stay informed through regular updates and to take necessary precautions to ensure safety.
With unpredictable weather patterns becoming more frequent, authorities continue to stress the importance of readiness and community awareness in mitigating the impact of severe weather events.
