The Unite trade union has issued a warning of potential widespread industrial action within the public sector, citing dissatisfaction with current pay negotiations. Members have expressed readiness to strike if the Government does not present a substantial offer.
The union revealed that an overwhelming majority of its members supported the move to strike, highlighting growing frustration over stagnating wages amid rising living costs. This decision comes as the Government faces mounting pressure to address public sector pay disputes.
Unite’s call for action follows a series of discussions that have yet to yield a satisfactory resolution. The union insists that without a meaningful pay proposal, public sector workers are prepared to take to the picket lines this winter.
As negotiations continue, the possibility of strikes looms large, potentially disrupting public services across the country.
