Concerns have been raised regarding the number of children missing from Tusla care, following a report revealing that up to 42 children were unaccounted for at one point in 2026. This issue has drawn attention to the challenges faced in safeguarding vulnerable minors.
Of the reported missing children, 27 were identified as Separated Children Seeking International Protection (SCSIP), highlighting the specific vulnerabilities faced by those seeking asylum. These children are often in need of additional support and protection due to their unique circumstances.
