Irish motorists are experiencing a mixed trend at the pumps as diesel prices have decreased, but petrol prices are on the rise. In June, the average price for diesel fell to €1.88 per litre, a notable drop from the previous month.
In May, diesel prices averaged €1.97 per litre, marking a significant nine-cent decrease in just one month. This reduction is a relief for diesel vehicle owners, who have faced fluctuating fuel costs over the past year.
Conversely, petrol prices have not followed the same downward trend, with reports indicating an increase in costs. This change presents a challenge for motorists who have already been dealing with high fuel expenses.
The diverging trends in fuel prices highlight ongoing volatility in the energy market, affecting consumer decisions and the broader economy.
